Herbicides, Fertilizers, and Aeration Aerate
before Total Quality, Inc.,
applies any type of Herbicide and/or Fertilizer. If
aeration is done after an application, the chemical barrier will breakdown
more rapidly allowing weeds to Thatch Accumulation and Aeration Most lawns are subject to thatch accumulation. It’s caused mainly by not mowing frequently enough and increased amounts of nitrogen fertilizer during the season. Left unmanaged, excessive thatch impedes water, fertilizer and herbicide effectiveness. Core Aeration combines soil with the thatch debris, so soil organisms are better able to break down thatch and reduce its accumulation. Soil Compaction and Aeration The deeper the roots, the healthier your lawn. The deeper the roots, the more tolerant your lawn will be to heat stress. Walking, playing and mowing will compact soil and stress your lawn. Raindrops and irrigation will further compact the soil. All these factors reduce large air spaces where roots willingly grow. Core Aeration allows your grass to grow deeper roots which will make better use of water and fertilizer.
